About Our Family

John and I met in 2012, and married in 2014. We knew that owning and operating a farm was one of our primary goals.
Callie was raised in the registered cattle industry garnering knowledge of production practices, breeding techniques, and nutrition programs. She was active in the National FFA organization, including serving as a North Carolina State FFA Officer in 2001-2002. While her first cattle weren’t Angus, Callie purchased her first Angus heifer in 1999 and the rest is history. She was active in the NC and National Junior Angus Associations participating in cattle shows, leadership development opportunities, and serving as an officer in the state association.
Callie’s family has been active in livestock and agriculture for generations, but there was no family livestock farm. In 2012, Callie chose to disperse the cattle herd that was started with that first heifer in 1999. She it knew it wasn’t the end, only the closing of one chapter.
While John was raised in a rural community, he was not raised on a farm. While in high school, John worked for a dairy driving trucks and helping feed animals. He loved being outside and working with machinery, but did not have many outlets to combine the two.
We welcomed our sons in 2016 and 2018. They love to be outside, help with day-to-day operations on the farm, and are our big helpers during summer farmers markets.
Our niece Chelsie is very involved in operations on our farm including showing cattle, vaccinating, helping with tallow products, and digital marketing.
